Location

Kalamaki is a popular seaside settlement in the prefecture of Heraklion in southern Crete. Kalamaki is located 67 km south of Heraklion, in close proximity to Kamilari, Matala and Phaistos.

Kalamaki is built along the long beach of Messara Bay, the largest beach in the south of Crete. It is growing rapidly and has already occupied the surrounding hills, the landscape of which strongly resembles the African desert.

The central location of Kalamaki in the south of Crete gives it a great advantage, offering easy and quick access to many places of tourist and archaeological interest such as Matala, Komos, Phaistos, Agia Galini and many more.

What is certain is that in a few minutes you will be able to visit the traditional villages in the hinterland of Messara or enjoy a swim on one of the many beautiful beaches on the south coast of Crete.
